Unity of Phoenix Covenant of Service
The basis of all service is truly in serving GOD. When you give of your time, you are the church.
"For as in one body, we have many members. And all the members do not have the same function. So we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of the other." (Romans 12:4-5 NRSV)
In becoming an integral part of the Unity of Phoenix community and culture on a deeper level as you engage working with our staff, congregants and community, please observe the following commitment to UOP:
We ask that you: as a representative of the ministry, it is important that you support the mission, vision and values of the church. Our Unity Mission statement is "Unity of Phoenix church is a loving, spiritual community that welcomes all people and honors all paths to God. We are dedicated to transforming lives by inspiring and awakening individuals to discover God's spirit within them."
This includes areas such as supporting leadership decisions without criticism and gossip in the spirit of ownership, teamwork and efficiency. Your lack of support in this area can harm the growth and spiritual path of other team members and our overall mission.
We ask that you: empower one another to express the Christ within. We encourage one another to walk our talk.
We ask that you: agree to honor your commitments and where commitments cannot or have not been met, renegotiate or make amends.
We ask that you: contact Jerry Heikens or the Front Desk at 602-978-3200 as quickly as possible in case of an emergency. Webster defines emergency as "an unexpected occurrence or situation demanding immediate action".
We ask that you: practice prosperity and possibility thinking and know that God is in charge in all that we do.
We ask that you: honor the confidentiality of your role as a Volunteer in this ministry. Confidential is defined as; "done or communicated in confidence, told in secret, entrusted with the confidence of another". There are things you may see or hear which are of a very confidential nature, please be respectful of each individual's right to privacy.
We ask that you: as a valued and appreciated volunteer representative, cooperate in support of the ministry by not expressing dissatisfaction to the staff, other congregants and board members. In the event a situation arises that is a cause for concern, please direct your questions and concerns to the Volunteer and Outreach Coordinator. If this person unavailable, the Director of Operations is an appropriate staff person to listen to your concerns.
We ask that you: Hold the space for modeling the principles the way Christ did before us. We thank you for sharing your God given gifts and time with this ministry.
