Small Groups at Unity

Unity of Phoenix Spiritual Center offers a wide variety of small groups through which it is easy to make friends and create loving relationships in our spiritual community.

Our small groups are created by congregants. These groups invite like-hearted people with similar interests to meet and establish a greater connection and to support the ministry.

NEW GROUP: Unity XYZ (for Generations X, Y and Z)

4th Wednesday of each month @ 8 p.m.

This group is for young adults 22-49 years old who are interested in conscious living, meditation, spiritual or personal growth, and/or raising consciousness. The purpose of the group is for young adults to discuss how they can increase the amount of peace, joy and fulfillment in their lives, specifically around the areas of career, romantic partnership and parenting.

Meetings will be conversation-driven, with a topic chosen by group leaders Amanda Sue Briggs and John Marzolph a week or so prior to the meeting. They will also lead the conversation to ensure the group stays on focus and the conversation continues to advance. Topics will likely stem from the previous weeks' Sunday service sermons.

If you are interested in participating, please email Amanda Sue Briggs.

Edgar Cayce Study Group

Currently Meeting via Zoom:
1st and 3rd Thursday of each month from 1-3 p.m.
AND
1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month from 7 to 9 p.m.

Edgar Cayce is perhaps one of the best known clairvoyants of the last century. While most of his psychic readings were dedicated to healing people, his readings also covered a wide range of spiritual and metaphysical topics.

This group studies the Edgar Cayce Readings (ECRs) by using the textbook, A Search for God, a book of affirmations and discourses based on the readings. The group discusses how to practically apply loving Christian aspects such as cooperation, self-knowledge, faith, virtue and patience.

For more information, or if you would like to be included in the Zoom meetings, email John Schroeder or call him at 602.373.4638.

Helping Parents Heal

Currently Meeting via Zoom each month - join our email list to receive notices

This group is dedicated to assisting parents who have lost children, giving them support and resources to aid in their healing process. The group goes a step beyond many similar groups by allowing the open discussion of spiritual experiences and evidence for the afterlife in a non-dogmatic way. Everyone is welcome, regardless of religious (or non-religious) background, and open dialogue is encouraged.

For more information, email Elizabeth Boisson.

The Rainbow Social Group

Once-a-Month Social Events

The Unity of Phoenix Rainbow Group celebrates acceptance of diversity in our community by drawing together caring and loving LGBTQ congregants and allies for both on- and off-campus activities throughout the year. We create opportunities to deepen our spiritual practice by supporting one another, creating service teams to assist local non-profit organizations and encouraging friendship through social connections amongst our Unity community.

With a focus on “the 3 S’s — Spirit, Service and Social — we host regular on campus potlucks and quarterly opportunities to give back to the community through one of our service teams.

Prior to each scheduled activity or event, an e-mail will be sent with details.

For more information, or to have your name added to our email distribution list for information on upcoming activities, contact The Unity Rainbow Group.

Unity of Phoenix Choir

Currently on Hiatus

Come be a part of our dynamic Music Ministry by participating in the Unity of Phoenix Choir! Typically, each Choir session runs five to seven weeks — the only commitment you need make — and culminates with a performance during Sunday morning worship services.

Unity Hiking Group

Next Hike: Wednesday, April 21, 9:30 a.m.
Peralta Trail (in the Superstition Mountains)

Currently, our hikes are being scheduled for mid-week, instead of a weekend, to reduce everyone’s exposure. Also, due to COVID-19 precautions, we will not be carpooling; instead, we'll be meeting at the trailhead parking lot.

the group will be hiking the Superstition Mountains' Peralta Trail, a moderate trail that is approximately 5 miles long and offers beautiful views. As always, participants can hike as long or as short as they feel comfortable; there is never any pressure to complete the full trail!

For trail details and directions, CLICK HERE.

Please bring LOTS OF WATER (and some extra; you don’t want to run out!) We can get dehydrated on the trail, so having enough water and snacks is critical self-care. Be sure to wear comfortable hiking/walking shoes, sunscreen and your wonderful, positive energy to share with everyone.

We’re planning approximately 2-33 hours for the hike, but you can decide how far you decide to go. The group will be practicing the AZ guidelines of social distancing.

In the interest of leaving no hikers behind, please RSVP by email and include your phone number so the hike leader will have it for the day of the hike. To RSVP, and if you have questions or would like additional information, please email Dee Psarros.

Unity Singles Group

Currently on Hiatus

Our Singles Group has approximately 30 to 40 active members . . . and we are still growing! Group activities and fellowship opportunities are shared on and off the Unity campus.

Active members socialize, form positive friendships, and grow together in spirituality and in connection to Unity of Phoenix.

The Singles Group is not a match-making or dating group but, rather, it is an outlet through which congregants without partners have an opportunity to participate in a variety of group activities and support other Singles on different levels.
