We Inspire People to Live Better Lives

Small Groups

Small Groups at Unity

Unity of Phoenix Spiritual Center offers a wide variety of small groups through which it is easy to make friends and create loving relationships in our spiritual community.

Our small groups are created by congregants. These groups invite like-hearted people with similar interests to meet and establish a greater connection and to support the ministry.

B.F.F. Unity (Building Fellowship & Fun)

Second Sunday of each month from 12:15 p.m. to 1:15 p.m.

We are a group of people between 30 and 50-ish years old who come together with great energy to help grow our spiritual community. We typically schedule two fun community-building activities each month such as pool parties, dancing, games and more. The group also hosts one kid-friendly family event each month.

For more information, contact Jarad DeSanti at 623.329.0780.

Creative Crafters

Every Thursday from Noon to 3:00 p.m. in Room 8

Do you love to do crafts? Any kind of craft? Or just looking for an excuse to enjoy social time with friends?

If so, join this social group each week to scrapbook, sew, paint, bead, do puzzles, do your nails, or engage in whatever type of craft you like to do ... even if it’s just "crafting conversation"! We just want to gather a bunch of us together each week in joyful community to create, share, visit and have fun!

For more information, contact Anna Huggup at 602.595.0364.

Edgar Cayce Study Group

1st and 3rd Monday of each month from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in Room 8

Edgar Cayce is perhaps one of the best known clairvoyants of the last century. While most of his psychic readings were dedicated to healing people, his readings also covered a wide range of spiritual and metaphysical topics.

This group studies the Edgar Cayce Readings (ECRs) by using the textbook, A Search for God, a book of affirmations and discourses based on the readings. The group discusses how to practically apply loving Christian aspects such as cooperation, self-knowledge, faith, virtue and patience.

For more information, contact John Schroeder at 602.373.4638.

Helping Parents Heal

3rd Sunday of each month from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. in Rooms 6&7

This group is dedicated to assisting parents who have lost children, giving them support and resources to aid in their healing process. The group goes a step beyond many similar groups by allowing the open discussion of spiritual experiences and evidence for the afterlife in a non-dogmatic way. Everyone is welcome, regardless of religious (or non-religious) background, and open dialogue is encouraged.

For more information, email Elizabeth Boisson.

Men's Group

2nd Saturday of each month from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the Gathering Room

Come make new friends and spend some healthy male bonding with this fun, friendly men’s group! This monthly gathering is a great opportunity for men in our Unity community to connect, get to know one another better. Bring your breakfast if you’d like to eat while we meet!

For more information, email Malcolm Tinkham.

The Rainbow Social Group

Once-a-Month Social Events

Our new Rainbow Social Group is for spiritually-centered, caring, loving LGBTQ congregants who may or may not be openly living an alternative lifestyle. The intention of the group is to allow LGBTQ members to expand social networks within the Unity of Phoenix community – both on and off campus – in a safe space free from judgment.

For more information, contact Esperanza Creeger at 469.438.9659.

Unity of Phoenix Choir

Come be a part of our dynamic Music Ministry by participating in the Unity of Phoenix Choir! Typically, each Choir session runs five to seven weeks — the only commitment you need make — and culminates with a performance during Sunday morning worship services.

For more information, email Craig Bohmler.

Unity Hiking Group

MOONLIGHT HIKES
We meet monthly (Sept thru May), the Friday on or before the Full Moon, for a Moonlight Hike. Our alternating destinations are North Mountain and Shaw Butte.

FITNESS FOR FUN HIKES
We invite you to meet us on the Third Saturday of Each Month.

For more information, contact Don Clausing at 602.866.0285.

Unity Singles Group

Our Singles Group has approximately 30 to 40 active members . . . and we are still growing! Group activities and fellowship opportunities are shared on and off the Unity campus.

Active members socialize, form positive friendships, and grow together in spirituality and in connection to Unity of Phoenix.

The Singles Group is not a match-making or dating group but, rather, it is an outlet through which congregants without partners have an opportunity to participate in a variety of group activities and support other Singles on different levels.

For more information, contact Esperanza Creeger at 469.438.9659.

VIP Luncheon

3rd Wednesday of each month (October-May)

Our monthly VIP Luncheon is for Very Important People 55 or older, who attend to enjoy fellowship and a special guest speaker or activity.

For more information, contact Jimmie Scott at 602.978.3200.

Women in Unity Connection Group

1st Saturday of each month

This group meets once a month to connect, laugh, love, learn and share with other women in our spiritual community. Our group currently meets at Unity of Phoenix on the first Saturday of each month for a potluck and connection group. During this special time, we gather to share and support one another, and to look at the places in our lives where we can be more centered in Spirit.

For more information, contact Therese Skelly at 602.369.0091.

SMART Recovery Group

Every Saturday from 10 to 11:30 a.m. in Room 8

This Self-Management and Recovery Training (SMART) is a free, not-for-profit peer support group for over-coming addictive substances and behavior — from alcohol to eating to gambling and anything in between. It is an open group for those who wish to overcome their own challenges and for those with a loved one with addictive challenges.
