We Inspire People to Live Better Lives

Small Groups

Small Groups at Unity

Unity of Phoenix Spiritual Center offers a wide variety of small groups through which it is easy to make friends and create loving relationships in our spiritual community.

Our small groups are created by congregants. These groups invite like-hearted people with similar interests to meet and establish a greater connection and to support the ministry.

Edgar Cayce Study Group

1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in Room 8

Edgar Cayce is perhaps one of the best known clairvoyants of the last century. While most of his psychic readings were dedicated to healing people, his readings also covered a wide range of spiritual and metaphysical topics.

This group studies the Edgar Cayce Readings (ECRs) by using the textbook, A Search for God, a book of affirmations and discourses based on the readings. The group discusses how to practically apply loving Christian aspects such as cooperation, self-knowledge, faith, virtue and patience.

For more information, contact John Schroeder at 602.373.4638.

Helping Parents Heal

3rd Sunday of each month from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. in Rooms 6&7

This group is dedicated to assisting parents who have lost children, giving them support and resources to aid in their healing process. The group goes a step beyond many similar groups by allowing the open discussion of spiritual experiences and evidence for the afterlife in a non-dogmatic way. Everyone is welcome, regardless of religious (or non-religious) background, and open dialogue is encouraged.

Men's Group

2nd Saturday of each month from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the Gathering Room

Come make new friends and spend some healthy male bonding with this fun, friendly men’s group! This monthly gathering is a great opportunity for men in our Unity community to connect, get to know one another better. Bring your breakfast if you’d like to eat while we meet!

The Rainbow Social Group

Once-a-Month Social Events

The Unity of Phoenix Rainbow Group celebrates acceptance of diversity in our community by drawing together caring and loving LGBTQ congregants and allies for both on- and off-campus activities throughout the year. We create opportunities to deepen our spiritual practice by supporting one another, creating service teams to assist local non-profit organizations and encouraging friendship through social connections amongst our Unity community.

With a focus on “the 3 S’s — Spirit, Service and Social — we host regular on campus potlucks and quarterly opportunities to give back to the community through one of our service teams.

Prior to each scheduled activity or event, an e-mail will be sent with details.

If you are interested, please send an email to unityrainbowgroup@ gmail.com to be sure that you are included in upcoming announcements.

For more information, contact The Unity Rainbow Group.

Unity of Phoenix Choir

Come be a part of our dynamic Music Ministry by participating in the Unity of Phoenix Choir! Typically, each Choir session runs five to seven weeks — the only commitment you need make — and culminates with a performance during Sunday morning worship services.

For more information, email Craig Bohmler.

Unity Hiking Group

Join us on the 3rd Saturday of each month!

On hiking Saturdays, the group departs from the Unity parking lot at 7 a.m. and carpools to the hiking site, where we hike for three to four hours and return to Unity no later than 3 to 5 p.m. It’s typically an “out-and-back” hike with experienced team members in from, middle and back of the pack, so no matter what your pace or experience, everyone will get exactly the hike they are looking for.

Please bring comfortable hiking/walking shoes, a couple of layers of clothing (ideally one of them waterproof), lots of water, a snack, and a sense of adventure.

If you have questions or would like additional information about our Saturday hikes, please contact John Jaksich at john@atranscendentlife.com or 602.317.3773.

We meet monthly (Sept thru May), the Friday on or before the Full Moon, for a Moonlight Hike. Our alternating destinations are North Mountain and Shaw Butte.

For more information, contact Bev Fisher at 623.533.7113.

Unity Singles Group

Our Singles Group has approximately 30 to 40 active members . . . and we are still growing! Group activities and fellowship opportunities are shared on and off the Unity campus.

Active members socialize, form positive friendships, and grow together in spirituality and in connection to Unity of Phoenix.

The Singles Group is not a match-making or dating group but, rather, it is an outlet through which congregants without partners have an opportunity to participate in a variety of group activities and support other Singles on different levels.
