Welcome to Our Unity Hiking Club!

Our group is dedicated in loving memory to Don Clausing,
a long-time Unity member who led our Hiking Club for many years.

Our Motto is: Connecting with each other on the trails in Nature

General Details

Our average hikes are approximately 4 to 5 miles round trip and are considered moderate. We’ll let you know if there are any that are difficult or challenging.

You are welcome to meet us at the trail or, depending on the hike, car pooling will be available. Hikers will meet at the Unity parking lot and a driver will volunteer to drive to the trail. Car poolers are asked to contribute to the gas, and the amount will be determined by the specific hike location. We want to be fair to all! The time will be announced according the hike, as well. Our Carpool Coordinator is Holly Moore: email her or call 602.400.0909.

Hiking Guidelines

Please consider these GUIDELINES for a fun and positive time. YOU are important to us and we want to ensure your safety!

  • Bring LOTS of Water (and some extra!). You don’t want to run out! We can get dehydrated on the trail so having enough water is critical.
  • Bring Snacks. You may get hungry on the trail.
  • Wear Comfortable Hiking Shoes.
  • Hiking Poles. These are not required but it does help us with balance on the trails.
  • Wear Sunscreen and be sure to bring some extra to reapply on the trail.
  • Wear a Hat or Visor. It’s another great added protection.
  • Bring Your Positive Energy to share with everyone!!
