We Inspire People to Live Better Lives

Circle Groups

Circle Groups

Our Circle Groups are a tremendous way to help you connect on a real level with other congregants, and explore spiritual concepts and principles.

We hold one five- to six-week Circle Group session every three months. "Circles" are small groups of 6 to 10 people who gather together in individual homes to discuss spiritual topics.  The discussions are typically centered around a particular book or spiritual practice (e.g., gratitude).  The members of the group examine the relevance of the topic to everyday life today, and how to apply the life lessons they offer to create a better life.

We typically have a large number of Circle groups to choose from, so you can sign up for one that fits well with your schedule and location.

The comfort of gathering in people's homes creates a cozy setting that fosters a feeling of community and connection, and provides a wonderful opportunity to meet new people and make life-long friends.  The people who bond together in our Circle Groups typically grow close to one another, look after one another, and provide support and real-life advice about how to overcome the challenges we all face.  The thought-provoking dialogue in our Circles always deliver a lot of insight and guidance that can help make your path more joyous and fulfilling.

Circles Begin the Week of August 18

One of the greatest ways to connect at a real heart level and get to know other congregants is by joining a “Circle Group.”

During the four weeks leading up to our celebration of Unity World Day of Prayer, we will be hosting Circle Groups focused on the book, How to Pray Without Talking to God by Unity minister Linda Martella-Whitsett.

The Circle Groups — which will focus on the idea and practice of Affirmative Prayer — will follow the book’s framework for developing a true spiritual practice by re-forming the words of traditional prayers, cultivating a habit of daily prayer and meditation, and learning how to pray with others. The book also includes a section that poses questions for readers to discuss in Circle Groups.

What Are ‘Circle Groups’?

  • Our “Circles Groups” are groups of six to 10 people who gather in individual homes to focus on a particular subject: prayer, gratitude or Lent/Easter.
  • During our summer session, the Circle Groups will meet once a week for four weeks, beginning the week of August 18 and running through our celebration of World Day of Prayer on Thursday, Sept. 12.
  • We will have many groups available in a wide variety of locations; join one that fits your schedule and location!
  • A facilitator will lead the group in prayer and discussion.
  • The book for our summer session, How to Pray Without Talking to God, is available for purchase in our Divine Idea Books & Gifts store.
