We’d love to have you as an official member of Unity of Phoenix! Church membership is not a requirement for attending or serving at Unity of Phoenix. However, membership does affirm your commitment to your own spiritual growth, and establishes your commitment to our spiritual community, which loves and takes care of one another, and grows in faith together. Membership also allows you to join with a wider, stronger, unified consciousness of spirituality.
Please note: If you are already a member of another Unity church, the only prerequisite for membership at Unity of Phoenix is the completion of our Membership Orientation.
How to Join Unity of Phoenix
You can fill out a new member application online by clicking here. Or, alternatively, you can download a new member application form by clicking here – Print it out, complete it, and drop it off at the reception desk in our administration building.
Anyone over the age of 18 who considers Unity of Phoenix their spiritual home can become a member. There are three steps you need to take:
Step #1: Complete Our ‘Unity Basics’ and ‘Prayer Basics’ Classes
These two three-hour classes provide an overview of what Unity is all about and the importance of prayer in building a strong spiritual life.
In our “Unity Basics” class, you will learn about the history of the Unity spiritual movement, the five foundational beliefs that are unique to Unity, and how applying those five spiritual principles can transform your life.
Our “Prayer Basics” class will provide an overview of Unity’s strong belief in the power of prayer. You’ll learn how to connect with God and manifest the Christ power within you through the practice of affirmative prayer and meditation.
To see a schedule of when these classes are offered, click here or pick up a membership flyer from the literature rack in our church lobby. It doesn’t matter what order in which you complete these two classes; however, you must complete both of them before you are eligible to enroll in the Membership Orientation.
Step #2: Volunteer 8 Hours
To be eligible for Membership, we ask that you volunteer a minimum of eight hours within our Unity community. For more information about the wide variety of volunteer opportunities that are available within our spiritual community, email Volunteer Coordinator Jerry Heikens or call him at 602.978.3200, Ext. 254.
Step #3: Attend Our Membership Orientation
Once you have completed our two previous steps, you’re ready for the third and final step: attending our Membership Orientation. During this three-hour class, you’ll learn more about our ministry; what it means to be a member; and how to make meaningful connections and participate in the ministry on a deeper level. Our Membership Orientation is offered only two times each year.
Our next Membership Orientation will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2016, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Everyone who attends the Membership Orientation, and who has fulfilled all other requirements, will be recognized as a new member during Sunday worship services on Sunday, October 23, 2016.
Again, if you are already a member of another Unity church, the only prerequisite for membership at Unity of Phoenix is the completion of our Membership Orientation.
For more information, or to sign up for the next Membership Orientation, email Marilyn Smith or phone her at 602.978.3200, Ext. 227.
