"It’s a different energy than regular Sunday services" says congregant Donnal Nalley " It’s a chance for you to take your spirituality a little deeper, .if that’s what you are looking to do. It’s a chance to be around a group of people, and experience the community of worship, but also have an opportunity to focus solely on yourself. This service helps me to be very centered, and focus very directly on my own spirituality. Another amazing aspect of this service is the music. Music is
extremely important to me. I receive a lot of messages through songs. I
love music that is powerful, inspiring and has a little bit of attitude. And,
believe me, the music at The Church of What’s Happening Now has
that". |
The Church of What’s Happening Now!6:00 pm
1st Sunday of Every Month A contemporary worship experience
Join us for We have been so blessed with the outstanding work Rev. Alice Anderson, Jonathon Ivie, Jason Caitlin and everyone involved with The Church of What's Happening Now have done in providing a spiritually meaningful and uplifting service for our community. As wonderful as the services have been, however, the support needed for it in terms of church resources and staff time — after a long work day with the morning services — has over-extended the ministry. We feel it is in the best interest of the ministry to suspend the service for now. We are open to providing this service again in the future, perhaps on a different day, if the resources and interest is there. We thank you for your understanding as we endeavor to serve and support our community in the best way possible. July/August, 2007 Upward Venture
This Service ‘Rocks’ in a Spiritual Way! |
Join us for a contemporary worship experience as we study the headlines of the week and give spiritual perspective to world events and God in daily life. Led by Rev. Alice Anderson, Music Director Jonathan Ivie and Video Director Jason Catlin. Service Feels Like a Family Reunion "I encourage everyone to try The Church of What's Happening Now service. It is truly an incredible experience. There is real energy in the service which is very exciting, and you come out of there feeling really good and very much alive. What’s really interesting about it is that, at the end of the service, people don’t just pile out and go home. They all stick around to visit and share with one another. It feels like a family reunion; there’s a really strong feeling of family connection, and a lot of wonderful emotions. The music is really incredible, more like rock music, very moving and inspirational. And the service is very spontaneous; there’s no set structure or “rules.” It’s a very different way to worship. And there are all sorts of different people there: older people who are getting up and dancing and having fun, all the way down to very young people. The message itself is not afraid to honestly show what’s happening today; it takes a look at conflicts that are happening around the world, and provides insight into ways in which we can help." - Greta McLeod |
