Week 7
Arise
Points:
Easter is a celebration of the resurrection but it is even more.
Jesus’ resurrection was more than giving us eternal life,
more than expanding the ‘quantity’ of life. It was
about helping us experience a greater quality of life. Easter
is a time of renewal and rebirth that reminders us that the resurrecting
power of the Christ is still alive. It lives within each of us.
The power of God that resurrected Jesus from death is the same
power that can transform our lives from fear, sadness, loneliness,
despair, and anger in our selves, families, communities and the
world.
Do you have a problem or situation in your life that feels
hopeless?
Is there a part of you that you have allowed to die?
Jesus did not just want us to celebrate the great miracle of His
resurrection He wanted each of us to learn from it so that we could
experience the great miracle of our own resurrection. The message
of Easter is a message of hope for us in overcoming situations
that we think are hopeless. The resurrecting power of the Christ
is waiting to uplift us and transform us so that we will arise
and boldly move forth to live the life that God is calling us to
live.
Practice:
- Write down 3 beliefs or habits that you are willing to release
to help you move forward in living your best life.
- Write down 3 qualities that you want to resurrect or bring
to life in you. Patience? Joy? Kindness? Love? Creativity?
Compassion?
- Write down a commitment statement for the type of person
you want to be and the kind of life you want to live. Read
it every morning and each night. For example, ‘I am
a loving child of God. Today I will be a light of peace and
understanding to all I meet.’
Questions:
- Is there an area in your life that you have allowed to die?
Is there a part of you that feels dead or lifeless?
- How would you describe the resurrecting power of God?
- Have you ever had a ‘resurrection’ experience
in your life?
- If you were transformed in all the ways you desired, how
differently would you live your life starting today?
Affirmation:
The resurrecting power of the Christ within transforms my life.
I leave behind the old and fully embrace the new. I am committed
to living a Christ-centered God directed life.
I, _______________, am lifted to new heights. I arise and boldly move forth to
live the glorious life I have been called to live. I am transformed. Thank you
God! Amen.
