Summary Sheet - Week 6

Step

Points:

Have you ever been unwilling to face a problem or try something new because it was too hard?  The challenges or difficulties we want to avoid can often be our greatest blessing if we are willing to face them. Avoiding the tough situations in our lives does not help us but actually rob us of the gifts they came to teach us.

When we look back at the times that have brought us the most value and richness they are the times that demanded the most of us.  The things we perceive as problems, obstacles and frustrations are really opportunities that are calling us higher, opportunities inviting us to go deeper to bring forth our greatest spiritual qualities. Stepping into and moving through the hard situations that come up in our lives is an important part of our spiritual journey because they help us draw out our greatness.

Jesus knew his path was difficult and he also knew it was an important part of the spiritual work God had call him to do. Jesus willingly stepped into Jerusalem to face the challenges that would call Him to greatness and bless and transform the world!
Are you willing to fully step into the work God is calling you to do?

Practice:

  1. Make a list of the 3 things that you have been avoiding or been unwilling to face.
  2. Reflect on a difficult situation that you stepped into and walked through. What did you gain from it? Were you glad you did it?
  3. Write one step you are willing to take in the 3 areas you have been avoiding. Take that step knowing that God is with you and that step is an important part of your spiritual journey that will help bring out your greatness.

Questions:

  1. Have you ever been unwilling to do something you knew was important for you because it was too hard?
  2. Is there something that you have been avoiding that you know you should face?
  3. For the times you have stepped into a challenging situation what was the outcome for you?
  4. What step would you be willing to take that would empower you and change your life for the better?

Affirmation:

God is calling me to greatness. I am willing to boldly step into and walk through the challenges of my life. I am willing to face my fears and overcome the obstacles that are a part of my spiritual journey.

I, _______________, confidently step forward to do the spiritual work that is mine to do.  I walk the path of my life with God. My success is assured. Amen.
