Week 4
Trust
Points:
The words ‘In God we Trust’ appear on the back of
our money. How much do you trust God in your life? The bible tells
us ‘it is the Fathers good pleasure to give us the Kingdom’,
but most of the time we think and act as if God does not provide
for us and there is never enough of the good we desire for our
lives.
Trust is an important part of a spiritually centered life. Without
trust we live in constant fear, worry and doubt. Without trust
we live in the mindset of lack, frustration and limitation. When
we live with trust we live with a greater sense of peace, faith,
thankfulness, and a joyful and positive expectation of good.
Are you willing to trust God with the thing that is worrying you
most?
Trust is a powerful spirit principle and an important spiritual
practice. This is why scripture tells us in Proverbs 3:5-6
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart. Do not rely on your own insight.
In all your ways acknowledge him and he will make straight your
paths.”
Practice: Build
a new story of trust . . .
- List all the ways you trust people in your daily life.
- Recall a time from childhood when someone followed through
with
exactly what they said they would. How did that make you feel?
- 3. Think of a current situation in which it is difficult to
trust that everything will work out. Take a deep breath and affirm ‘ I trust God in this.’ ‘All
things are working for the good in this situation.’
Questions:
- What are the things you worry about the most? What is the fear
behind the worry?
- What could you do to help yourself trust God in all
areas of your life?
- If you trusted God with all your heart how would you live
your life
differently?
- What could you do on a daily basis to help you live
your life with greater trust?
- Are you willing to trust God with this ministry?
Affirmation:
I trust God in all things. I trust God in my challenges. I trust
God with my future. I trust God in the present. Spirit is always
leading, guiding, and
providing all that I need to live a peaceful and fulfilling life.
I, _______________, trust God loves me and that all things are working
together for my highest good. Thank you God. Amen.
