San Tan Mountain Regional Park - March 2011

Marcos De Niza Trail - February 2011

Looking South and overlooking the Desert Classic Trail which runs east and west between the mountain and the suburbs for about 10-miles (east end to the west end)  It is an excellent mountain bikers and jogging trail for longer distances and few challenges of rocks and boulders.

Looking North. Patterns of sun light against the mountains (and the city) with Phoenix in the background
Marcos De Niza Trail

No lack of trail choices to get lost, and it seemed that every mountain ridge had a trail to explore alone the top (see also 2nd picture).  Also an interesting cage on the beginning of the Marcos De Niza TrailMarcos De Niza Trail

Ford Canyon Trail Hike - January 2011

Gifted benches along the trail, heavily protected small cactus plant
(tennis ball in size), the stone art work

Many different types of vista's along the trail

Sunlight just over the mountain, and typical white rock
from which the name White Tank Mountain received its name.

Where the Ford Canyon narrows. the white rock again
is the predominant color of the low areas.
